Local Poultry Segments Thaws

SPRINGDALE — The local poultry industry was hit hard by Tuesday’s ice storm that encased much of the region in 1.5 inches of ice. Tyson Foods, Simmons Foods, Georges and Cargill have experienced power outages and loss of production for the past three days and had begin thawing on Friday, officials from the companies said.
