JUDGE WON’T DROP CHARGES AGAINST FORMER JEFFERSON COUNTY OFFICIAL

Former Jefferson County Judge Jack Jones will stand trial on all eight of the allegations made against him after a special judge refused to dismiss some of them because the statute of limitations had expired.

MARIJUANA ODOR LEADS TO ARREST

A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy who noticed the odor of marijuana on a man entering a video store Thursday seized more than two ounces of the drug during the arrest.

TWO ARRESTED AFTER DRUG SEARCH WARRANTS SERVED

Two Pine Bluff men arrested after separate search warrants were served Wednesday will each have to post $25,000 bonds to be released from the county detention center while prosecutors prepare drug and weapons related charges against them.

HABITUAL OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 60 YEARS

MONTICELLO — A Drew County jury this week sentenced a habitual offender with 17 prior felony convictions to 60 years in prison for possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver.

Amendment to HB 1204 (Tobacco Tax)
