Mice topic at meeting

For the second time this year, the Maumelle City Council met on Tuesday because of a holiday. Last week it was because of President’s Day. With a brief agenda, the council met for 90 minutes but announced plans that will set the stage for the year to come.

Public works building provides needed space

The $1.8 million Maumelle Public Works building was formally dedicated Monday. Mayor Mike Watson said it was started during former Mayor Burch Johnson’s tenure. He said the building for the first time gives the public works department adequate space to do their job.
