Jim Lindsey’s decade-long term on the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees actually ends today. It’s an at-large appointment, meaning it can come statewide. The legal prerequisite is that the appointee be a UA grad.
And there’s an interesting rumor in the Capitol. It’s that the governor’s office will soon be appointing former U. S. Sen. David Pryor. He’s a UA grad.
I’ve heard that twice. You can hear lots of things.
The governor’s office, typically giving nothing away, says it has no comment on this and that it has no announcement to make at this time, thank you very much.
P. S. — Lindsey ran against Pryor for governor in the mid-70s. That’s just for the coincidence and crossed-paths department.
