Ark. stimulus Web site active

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK — An Internet portal to help Arkansans track spending from the state’s share of federal stimulus money went online today.

Gov. Mike Beebe’s office said the interactive site would be updated daily with information about program funding through the state. The site estimates Arkansas will receive $2.9 billion in stimulus funds, about $800,000 more than previous estimates.

Also Monday, Beebe signed certifications confirming Arkansas’ involvement in the Recovery and Reinvestment Act, enabling the flow of funds to Arkansas projects, including 27 shovel-ready highway projects certified throughout the state.

A recovery hotline also is now active. Arkansans can call 501-683-5767, or toll-free at 1-877-682-1515, to get additional information or provide feedback.
