LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health has been awarded a grant totaling about $2.5 million over five years to develop community partnerships in the Arkansas Delta to promote health and well-being, UAMS announced Monday.
The grant comes from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The program will also provide a station for developing research for good nutrition and physical activity in school-aged children from the Delta.
UAMS is one of 35 academic health centers nationwide named a CDC Prevention Research Center.
