Damaged gas main prompts evacuation

Someone backing into a parking space at Our Savior Lutheran Church struck and broke a high-pressure natural gas line about 10 a.m. Sunday, prompting an evacuation, Pastor Mark Eisold said.

Some trash fees to go down under new pact

Exclusive domain for garbage pickup was given to Waste Management of Arkansas in exchange for a lowered residential rate. In his remarks, Mayor Eddie Joe Williams said exclusive service has always been part of residential service, it was simply extended to businesses.

Metroplan planner: Ward shows strength
