A few times a year or so, I get to travel via airplane. Today is one of those times. My favorite part is the moment I pull up in my driveway at the end of the trip. My second favorite part is when I kick off my shoes, after pulling into the driveway at the end of the trip, plop in my bed and turn on the television. My least favorite part is drudging through the airport, making my way through security.  I’ve debated whether or not to bring my laptop on this trip. Bringing it means an extra plastic box at the metal detector check point. Not an easy maneuver when one is also trying to de-shoe and remember to pull out the plastic bag filled with mini-toiletries lest one gets pulled aside and frisked whilst one’s personal items are rummaged. However, I will have some down time tonight and wanted to get some work done, so the laptop is with me. Yippie. I was able to pack lightly enough to avoid checking any bags. Then again, it’s a quick trip. I get to do the airport thing again tomorrow and head back home. Yippie. I plan to spend the better part of the weekend in bed watching television…AFTER a long, hot shower to remove all the travel-induced airport and hotel ickyness.
