LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe on Friday ordered flags flown at half-staff Monday to honor a soldier shot to death in an attack at a military recruiting center.
Pvt. William Long, 23, of Conway, was killed an another soldier, Pvt. Quentin Ezeagwula, 18, of Jacksonville, was wounded last Monday as they stood outside the Army-Navy Career Center in west Little Rock.
“We’re going to offer the condolences of the whole state and show respect of the state by lowering the flag,” Beebe said. “I think all Arkansans are saddened and our hearts go out to the family.”
Abdulhakim Muhammad, 23, faces capital murder and terrorism charges in connection with the shootings. He has pleaded not guilty.
