LITTLE ROCK — State Treasurer Martha Shoffner announced Thursday she will seek re-election to a second term.
Shoffner, a Democrat, served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1997-2003. She was first elected state treasurer in 2006, defeating Republican Chris Morris in the November 2006 general election.
“I am grateful to the people, I’m profoundly grateful, for giving me this opportunity and I want to continue,” Shoffner said Thursday.
No other Republicans or Democrats have yet announced as candidates for the office.
