LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas’ commissioner of state lands has scheduled a Tuesday news conference to announce a run for secretary of state.
Land Commissioner Mark Wilcox is to announce his plans at 10 a.m. on the Capitol steps.
Wilcox, a cattle farmer from Wooster, served as Faulkner County tax collector before being elected land commissioner in 2002. He is prevented by term limits from seeking
re-election, as is two-term Secretary of State Charlie Daniels, who is mulling a run to succeed term-limited state Auditor Jim Wood.
Pulaski County Circuit-County Clerk Pat O’Brien and Sebastian County Clerk Doris Tate previously announced plans to run for secretary of state.
