Kroger’s recalls beef due to possible E. coli

LITTLE ROCK — Kroger Delta Marketing Area, the public relations arm of the grocery superstore, is recalling store-brand beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli.

Kroger stores in Arkansas, West Tennessee, Mississippi, Southern Missouri and Southwest Kentucky are included in the recall.

Kroger is asking customers to check their freezers for store-brand and store-packaged ground beef with sell dates between April 27 and June 1, 2009. The bar codes include 2116580000, 2116581000, 2116582000, and 2116583000 and are labeled as “Ground Beef AP2 73% lean T.”

The items should not be consumed. Customers can return them for a full refund.
