My youngest cousin graduated from high school and the party was Saturday….in Boston. Therefore, I was traveling, visiting and site-seeing during the time I normally weigh in. I am happy to report that under the celebratory circumstances, and in consideration of the road time two of my boys and I put in over the long weekend, I did stick to my healthier habits for the most part. Yes, I had a piece of graduation cake. But it was a small piece. And there were actually four cakes decorated to look like a row of lockers – all homemade by another cousin’s mother-in-law. I was temped to try all four flavors of cake, but settled for only the pink. Let me tell you, the pink was delicious. And knowing I did not need any more than what I was able to finish of that one piece, I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Considering all the walking we did in New York City, Boston, Rockport (one of my new favorite places) and Philadelphia, I believe I may still have lost weight despite enjoying that piece of heaven…and a couple of cookies. But I didn’t weigh in on Sunday, so we may never know. I will be sure to weigh in on Sunday the 5th – if for nothing else to keep me honest over the holiday weekend!
