LITTLE ROCK — Federal officials will hold a public workshop Thursday in Lonoke to provide information on applying for stimulus money to expand broadband access.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Rural Water Association’s headquarters at 240 Dee Dee Lane, according to a news release from the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service.
The Obama administration announced this month that $4 billion in stimulus loans and grants would be available in the first round of funding to expand broadband service to unserved and underserved communities. The event in Lonoke is one of 10 workshops being held across the country to help prospective applicants learn how to apply.
