Next column: equivocation

My column for tomorrow will try and fail to decide whether to argue with conservative education guy Jay P. Greene of the University of Arkansas in his criticisms of the Fayetteville School District’s spending federal stimulus money on generous pay for teachers in an intensive three-week summer literacy push for about 120 at-risk K-through-2nd grade kids.

Sometimes thoughtful equivocation is the most honest communication with readers. And it’s not necessarily as pointless as it might seem, if it encourages readers to think for themselves. At least that’s my story, and I’m sticking with it.
