I'd like to lay more of the responsibility on the physician but they are under pressure for quick fixes as well so its difficult for me decry their actions too strongly. However, they get paid to offer their opinion and in this case the Doc should have just suggested the treatments without antibiotics. They get paid well to make these sort of judgment calls.
