Bob Kendrick of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City will discuss the history of Arkansas’ black baseball teams, the national leagues, and their contributions to society and the civil rights movement at the Butler Center’s Legacies and Lunch, Monday at noon in Little Rock.

Four Sherwood boys — ages 15 to 17 — were arrested by city police officers at 1:48 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, after police were dispatched to the area of Stafford Drive in reference to four people going through parked cars there.

While the city of Sherwood continues to assess the hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage caused from the June 30 hailstorm which seemed to strike no other city, the city’s code enforcement officer is warning city homeowners to make sure they aren’t taken advantage of by unscrupulous roofers.

The Sherwood City Council Monday night took no action from Pennwood Drive residents who urged aldermen to bring something to Sherwood that currently doesn’t exist — speed bumps to slow down traffic.
