Windstream declares quarterly dividend

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK — Windstream Corp. Wednesday declared regular quarterly dividends of 25 cents per share on the company’s common stock.

The dividend is payable Oct. 15 to stockholders of record as of Sept. 30.

Under terms of Windstream’s May 10 merger agreement with D&E Communications Inc., the companies have aligned the record and payment dates for dividends in Windstream and D&E common stock, Windstream said. The move is designed to assure that D&E shareholders are entitled to either a dividend on D&E common stock or Windstream common stock, but not both, with respect to the calendar quarter in which the merger occurs.

Windstream, a spinoff of the former Alltel Corp., provides phone, high-speed Internet and high-definition digital TV services to customers in 16 states. The company also offers a wide range of IP-based voice and data services and advanced phone systems and equipment to businesses and government agencies.

Windstream has about 3 million access lines and about $3.2 billion in annual revenues.

Windstream stock (NYSE: WIN) closed unchanged at $8.94 a share Wednesday.
