This is officially my last healthier life blog update. I will of course continue to blog about nothing in particular, with a recipe or piece of unsolicited advice tossed in for interest. However, after 24 weeks, I am happy to report that I’ve pretty much met my goals. Sure, I extended the time lines from the initial optimistic goals I set. But reality set in and I was able to turn things around with the help of my doctor and dietitian. So, after another needle stick and blood draw, not only did I refrain from fainting, but I was able to essentially “pass” the tests. Drum roll, please….
My good cholesterol (HDL) went up 2 points. My bad cholesterol went down 56 points. My Total cholesterol went down 78 points. My triglycerides wend down 150 points. And after 24 weeks, my net weight loss is a whopping 27 pounds. The best news is I don’t have to go on any medication and no additional follow-up is needed for another six months!
If I can do it, you can do it! Yes, I eat differently now and I exercise more. But these are good changes. Changes that just might help me live long enough to pay off all my debt!
