So let me tell you about the political excitement of the weekend in Arkansas.
U. S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln made a reasonable and tactical decision not to hold town meetings on health care during the August recess. She is up for re-election and she sits on the health bill-writing Finance Committee, and, well, she just didn’t need any public spectacles right now.
But she did agree to several events during the recess, including a simple speaking at the traditional Benton County Democratic Committee fund-raising dinner/picnic, formerly at Little Flock, but this year at the Samaritan House in Rogers. That’ll be Saturday afternoon, 4:30 p.m.
Meantime, the Democratic National Committee has these Obamists who are trying to stir up an on-line fervor for health care reform to counter the on-line fervor against it that the wingnuts and TEA partyists have fomented. So this DNC entity, Organization for America, it’s called, sent out an e-mail saying Blanche would be speaking at a health care rally Saturday night in Rogers, and encouraging supporters of health care reform to show up.
Well, the Internet being the Internet, the TEA partyists got wind of all this and now they’re distributing urgent messages to say that, since Blanche is trying to rally for health care among only friends, they intend to show up and demonstrate, maybe even pay the $25 to attend the party dinner.
All this is wrapped up in that “un-American” gaffe Blanche made.
Blanche’s campaign is high-irked with this Obamaist operation, which misrepresented the event as a health care really when it is a routine party function. It also didn’t bother running any of this by the campaign of its targeted Democratic senator in Arkansas. Actually, Obama doesn’t even have a health care bill of his own and Blanche hasn’t signed on to any herself.
If anyone can get Blanche beat, it’s not going to be Gilbert Baker or Tom Cotton or Curtis Coleman. It’s going to be Obama. That’s just a fact. I don’t have to like it to see it and say it.
It’s almost enough to make me drive up to Rogers tomorrow.
Oh, in case you don’t get the reference to Will Rogers, which surely you do: He once said he wasn’t a member of an organized political party, but a Democrat.

This is an example of why we need a change in Arkansas. Lincoln, has been getting hammered in the last few days here by the people. She has ducked them and scheduled no town meetings and avoiding confrontation. She is acting like the Absentee Land Owner of olden days. Rape the land for what it giver her (voters) and do nothing to sustain it. Then she doesn’t understand when she returns to the plantation and finds the serfs in revolt. So it scares her and she runs, rather than face the music and vote the way Arkansans want. So now she wants to change her mind and stop the democratic tide of supporting Cap and Trade. Well she can only run till November 2010 and then she can go home to Washington DC and rest. It is time for change. The republican party in Arkansas is a joke. They are all bloated fat banker types who look like week old ground venison over stuffed into a once used sausage sleeve. Not to mention racists and out of touch with the real people of Arkansas. For every registered voter that drinks a either political party kool-aid, there are 13 who are independents. Well it is our time now and we are not happy, we will vote accordingly. Regnat Populus!
