LITTLE ROCK — Airtherm, which makes fan coil units and fan coils for the HVAC industry, plans to expand its Forrest City facility and add 45 new jobs, the company announced today.
Airtherm, which currently employees 40 people, is owned by Westfield, Mass.-based Mestek Inc. Mestek has 16 other plants in North America.
Product lines being added to the Forrest City plant include cabinet unit heaters, panel radiators, electric baseboard units, fire dampers, fire and smoke dampers, air control dampers, roof curbs and gravity roof ventilators.
“We choose to relocate several of our product lines to our Forrest City plant because of the business-friendly attitude of state and local officials as well as the availability of skillful and motivated workers,” said Jim Monahan, Mestek vice president for manufacturing services Jim Monahan.
Maria Haley, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, praised the news that new jobs would be created.
“We appreciate the commitment Airtherm has made to Forrest City and its work force and look forward to the company’s continued success,” Haley said.
