LITTLE ROCK — The U.S. 65 bypass at Grady in Lincoln County is opening today, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department says.
The $18.5 million four-lane bypass extends for four miles and took three and a half years to build, department spokesman Randy Ort said today.
The speed limit will be 55 mph while the contractor performs additional work at the site, then increase to 65 mph when the work is completed in a few weeks. Occasional lane closures will be necessary during the final weeks of work.
