There are plenty of personnel notes to let you know about here in Bud Walton Arena.
Arkansas is working with a short bench in its exhibition opener against Dillard. Several players are missing.
• Freshman forward Marshawn Powell is not here because he is sick, an Arkansas spokesperson told us.
• Senior guard Stefan Welsh isn’t here, either. Why? We don’t know the answer to that right now.
• Walk-on guard Nick Mason isn’t here, either. Again, we’ll try to find out why after the game.
• There is one surprising player who is wearing a uniform tonight. QB Brandon Mitchell. Apparently, the freshman will be playing with the Razorbacks this season. Mitchell is not on the floor tonight. I’m guessing it’s because of the hernia that has kept him out of football practice.
