Bids coming for new county jail

The opening of the construction bids for the new Lonoke County jail located in Lonoke behind the hotels will happen on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in the CSEPP Emergency Conference Room.

Metroplan hears fatality trends, ‘Bottleneck’ details problems

Three-year trends in a study of pedestrian and bicycle fatal accidents show the developed areas of the Central Arkansas region to be the most dangerous. The minority areas of Little Rock showed a greater rate than other areas, according to a report released last week to the Metroplan board of directors at its monthly meeting.

School museum wants old yearbooks

The Cabot schools’ Museum of American History is documenting the history of the Cabot schools, said museum director Mike Polston. “We are attempting to collect as much material about the school system as we can,” he said.
