Governor appoints 16 to state boards, commissions

LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe today appointed Frank Guinn Jr. of Paragould to the Arkansas State Police Commission.

Guinn replaces Charisse Childers of Blytheville. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2017.

The governor also appointed Victor Green of Conway to the University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees. Green replaces Patricia Bassett. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 217.

The appointments were among 16 made to state boards and commissions.

Others appointed:
—Nancy Arn of El Dorado, reappointed to the Information Network of Arkansas. Her appointment expires Dec. 31, 2012.
—Cecile Bluker of Bryant replaces Pat Page on the Arkansas Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence Commission. Her appointment expires July 1, 2010.
—The Rev. Stephen Copley of North Little Rock reappointed to the State Board of Collection Agencies. His appointment expires Jan. 1, 2013.
—Harold Evans of Little Rock reappointed to the Information Network of Arkansas. His appointment expires Dec. 31, 2012.
—Dale Freeman of Portia reappointed to the Arkansas Rural Development Commission. His appointment expires Dec. 31, 2014.
—Dr. Jim Gordon of Maumelle reappointed to the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2017.
—Cecil Greene of Fort Smith replaces Yvonne Martin on the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2011.
—Jean Hervey of Plumerville replaces J.J. Vigneault on the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Her appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.
—David Lumbert of Little Rock reappointed to the Arkansas Geological Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2017.
—Jeff Maher of Little Rock appointed to the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. He serves at the will of the governor.
—Sheriff Victor Rose of Lewisville replaces Michael Booth on the Arkansas Child Abuse, Rape, and Domestic Violence Commission. His appointment expires July 1, 2010.
—Martin Silverfield of Little Rock replaces Patricia Cohee on the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. His appointment expires Jan.14, 2016.
—Rita Watkins of Fort Smith replaces Julie Bridgeforth on the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. She serves at the will of the governor.
—Robert Watkins of West Memphis reappointed to the State Board of Collection Agencies. His appointment expires Jan. 1, 2013.
