LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe raised $313,615 in February and reported $1.3 million cash on hand, according to monthly campaign contribution reports filed today.
Jim Keet, his Republican opponent in the November general election, reported raising $589 during the same period for his aborted run for lieutenant governor.
Keet announced his candidacy for governor on Feb. 26.
Beebe reported raising $271,615 for the primary and $42,000 for the general election in February.
Beebe, who served more than 20 years in the state Senate before being elected to state attorney general in 2002, was elected governor in 2006 and is seeking re-election.
Keet, a businessman, a former state senator and unsuccessful candidate for Congress, recently ran a company in Florida before returning to Arkansas last year.
The deadline for filing February campaign disclosure reports is at midnight.
In the lieutenant governor’s race, state Sen. Shane Broadway, D-Bryant, reported raising $20,759 in February and spending none.
Republican candidates Mark Darr of Rogers and Donnie Copeland of Sherwood had not filed their campaign disclosure reports by 4:30 p.m.
In the secretary of state’s race, three Democratic candidates filed their reports Monday.
Pat O’Brien, the Pulaski County circuit court clerk, reported raising $20,495 in February for his primary election campaign and spending $9,842. He had $129,359 in the bank at the end of the month. He also reported raising $2,000 for his primary election runoff campaign during the month.
Sebastian County Circuit Clerk Doris Tate reported raising $500 in February and spending $725, leaving her with $9,348 in the bank. State Land Commissioner Mark Wilcox reported raising $10,550 in February and spending $9,051, leaving him with $46,867 in the bank.
The Republican candidate, state Rep. Mark Martin of Prairie Grove, had not filed his campaign disclosure report by late this afternoon.
