Beebe appoints 21 to state boards, commissions

LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe announced 21 appointments to state boards and commissions today.

Those appointed:
—Thomas Akin of Russellville replaces Jack Storey on the Arkansas Racing Commission. His apointment expires Jan. 14, 2015.
—Tom Bailey of Imboden replaces Brandon Chandler as Randolph County constable, West Roanoke Township. His appointment expires Dec. 31.
—Scott Bell of Conway was reappointed to the State Emergency Response Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2014.
—Barry Birkhead of Waldron replaces Terri Franks on the State Emergency Response Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2014.
—Dr. John Carmack of Siloam Springs replaces Dr. Roy Farley on the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. His appointment expires Dec. 1, 2012.
—Wanda Fraser of McCrory replaces Alvin Frasero on the the Woodruff County Quorum Court, District 2. Her appointment expires Dec. 31.
—Dr. Carl Fredrickson of Conway was reappointed to the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2014.
—Paul George of Berryville replaces Todd Walker on the Carroll County Quorum Court, District 5. His appointment expires Dec. 31.
—Yell County Sheriff Bill Gilkey of Danville was reappointed to the State Crime Laboratory Board. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2017.
—Michael Hill of Greenway replaces James Jeffress on the Clay County Quorum Court, District 3. His appointment expires Dec. 31.
—Dr. Glen Jones Jr. of Jonesboro was reappointed to the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2014.
—Bill Lundy of Little Rock reappointed to the Arkansas Fire and Police Pension Review Board. His appointment expires Jan. 1, 2014.
—Paul Mastro of Little Rock reappointed to the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2014.
—Dr. Justin Moore of Searcy replaces Faye Doran on the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. His appointment expires Dec. 1, 2012.
—Dr. Richard Schmid of Arkadelphia replaces Dr. Brian Canfield on the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. His appointment expires Dec. 1, 2012.

To the State Board of Health:
—Dr. Miranda Childs-Bebee of Arkadelphia replaces Dr. Jack Porter.
—Alan Fortenberry of Springdale, reappointment.
—John Page of Fayetteville, reappointment.
—Mary Beth Ringgold of Little Rock replaces Don Phelan.
—Dr. Alexander Rejistre Sr. of Pine Bluff replaces Dr. Karen Konarski-Hart.
—The Rev. Dwight Townsend of Benton, reappointment.

These reappointments expire Dec. 31, 2013.
