Lady Panthers sweep 7A-Central games

The Cabot Lady Panthers softball team swept games from Conway and Russellville last week to improve to 14-7 overall and 6-2 in the 7A-Central. Cabot is in third place behind undefeated North Little Rock and Bryant, which is 9-1.

Giants take UA’s Petrus in fifth round

Former Arkansas Razorback offensive lineman Mitch Petrus had to wait longer than expected, but finally got the call to the NFL when he was taken by the New York Giants with the 16th pick in the fifth round Saturday. His pick was the 147th overall.
