County to apply for grant for Southbend Fire Station

During its Thursday meeting, the Lonoke County Quorum Court voted to apply for a $25,753 grant for Southbend Fire Station No. 3, which is on Arkansas Highway 236.

Lonoke County primary voting results reflected statewide totals in most races. In perhaps the most watched statewide contest, reports show incumbent U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln in a 43 percent tie with challenger Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, falling short of the 50 percent-plus-one needed to avoid the June 8 runoff.
