LITTLE ROCK — Anti-abortion groups have launched a billboard campaign in Arkansas targeting the black community.

The billboards in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pine Bluff feature a photo of a black child about 1 year old, the words “Black & Unwanted” and the names of the three sponsoring organizations: Arkansas Right to Life, TooManyAborted.com and the Radiance Foundation.

“The abortion rate in the African-American community is three times higher than that of white women, a fact that most African-Americans find shocking,” Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life, said today.

Mimms said 39 percent of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on blacks, though blacks comprise only 13 percent of the population.

The groups have paid for the billboards to stay up for the next month.

My first though when I seen the billboard is; why is there only a black face represented???? All races have abortions, so to me it would be only fair to add other races to the picture or take the bilboard down. Alot of other races have abortions but we don’t here about it. Don’t make an example of blacks, because we LOVE our children also. I’m going to see how I can get the billboard removed or other races added!!!!!! That would be the fair thing to do.
