It’s no surprise Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett was bombarded with questions today.
He got all kinds. Questions about his foot, Arkansas’ expectations, his face on the cover of the media guide, the Heisman Trophy, agents, his insurance policy and more.
But then there was this question that came in a TV interview room:
“Ryan, can you tell us what you think about getting the ball to the tight end this year?”
It was Arkansas tight end D.J. Williams, who had slipped into the room, moved to the front and fired off a question that certainly has his interest.
Mallett looked up and began to answer the question. Then he realized who was asking it. And his response changed.
“Well D.J., as long as you’re not double covered I’ll get it to you,” Mallett said with a laugh.
Not exactly a big “news” moment. But certainly a moment worth sharing from Arkansas’ time here at SEC Media Days.
