LITTLE ROCK — Republican nominee Steve Womack holds a 24-point lead over Democrat David Whitaker in the 3rd District congressional race, results of a new poll released today show.
The poll conducted by Talk Business Research and Hendrix College shows Womack, the Rogers mayor, with 55 percent to 31 percent for Fayetteville resident Whitaker in the race to succeed U.S. Rep. John Boozman, R-Rogers, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
Fourteen percent of respondents were undecided.
Talk Business-Hendrix College used robo-calls to survey 579 likely 3rd District voters Wednesday night. The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus 4 percent.
The Northwest Arkansas district is a traditional Republican stronghold in the state, having elected Republicans to Congress since 1966.
