1. Ryan Mallett
With Arkansas having the first possession in the second overtime, the Razorbacks needed a touchdown to force the issue for Mississippi State. With a second-and-goal from the 7, Ryan Mallett passed to Knile Davis in the left flat and Davis followed the block of Cobi Hamilton into the end zone for what turned out to be the winning score. Mallett topped 300 yards passing for the eighth time this season and improved his record as a college quarterback to 20-7.
2. Jerry Franklin
Linebacker Jerry Franklin recorded a career-high 15 tackles against Mississippi State, including a sack and two tackles for losses. His previous best was against LSU a year ago, when he had 13 tackles. Franklin is Arkansas’ leading tackler for the season and has led the team in tackles seven times this year.
3. Elton Ford
Safety Elton Ford knocked down a potential touchdown pass from Chris Relf intended for Chad Bumphis in the end zone with 3:54 to go in the third quarter, then caused a fumble that gave Arkansas the ball on the 11-yard line with 2:18 left in the period.
4. Knile Davis
Although he had an uncharacteristic two fumbles for the Razorbacks, Knile Davis rushed for a career-high 187 yards and scored three touchdowns, including the game winner on a pass from Mallett in the second overtime.
5. Jarius Wright
An 89-yard touchdown reception by Jarius Wright from Ryan Mallett was the second-longest in Razorback history, topped only by Matt Jones’ 92-yard yard scoring pass to Richard Smith against Tennessee in 2002.
