Arkansas showed some resiliency in battling back to beat Ole Miss 29-24 on Saturday.
But resiliency didn’t help the Razorbacks move up in this week’s Bowl Championship Series standings.
Arkansas actually dropped one spot.
The Razorbacks fell from No. 9 to No. 10 after struggling to beat the Rebels, who are 0-4 in SEC play. Arkansas did climb to No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches poll and No. 9 in the Harris Interactive Poll, which make up two-thirds of the BCS equation. So Arkansas’ drop to No. 10 can be attributed to this week’s results of the computer polls, which make up the rest of the equation.
Oregon, which climbed to No. 7 in the BCS, is now the highest-rated one-loss team. The Ducks and Kansas State both jumped over Arkansas in the BCS standings. Oklahoma fell to No. 8 after its loss to Texas Tech.
The top six teams in the BCS are LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Boise State, Clemson and Stanford.
