The Franklin County Quorum Court unanimously approved 15 ordinances and two resolutions Thursday, including the county’s 2012 operating budget. In a change of policy, the 2012 budget was prepared by a committee of county department heads rather than by the Quorum Court budget committee, which was disbanded earlier in 2011.

Members of Lavaca’s Future Farmers of America are back after a whirlwind trip to the 84th annual national convention and a tour of the Indianapolis 500 Track. This was the local chapter’s first year to attend the national convention in nearly seven years.
