Baseball: Arkansas On TV At Least 16 Times

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball fans will have plenty of opportunities to watch the fourth-ranked Razorbacks on television this season.

At least 16 Arkansas games will be televised, including eight appearances as part of the Southeastern Conference’s package. The television schedule was announced Wednesday morning.

Arkansas will appear on one of the ESPN networks five times, facing LSU (March 31 on ESPNU), Florida (March 29 on ESPN), South Carolina (May 4 on ESPNU and May 5 on ESPN2), and Auburn (May 10 on ESPNU). The Razorbacks will have two games televised by Comcast Sports Southeast (Alabama on March 17 and LSU on March 30), and one on Fox Sports Net (Mississippi State on March 25).

The Razorbacks also will appear on Cox Sports Television (CST) eight times in 2012. Those games will be announced at a later date.

“Our program is very excited about the regional and national exposure we receive through the SEC baseball television package,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said in a statement. “College baseball continues to grow in popularity each year and the increased exposure on TV helps not only our team, but the sport in general.”

The Razorbacks have two other television opportunities as well later this season.

CSS and ESPNU will air two more games that will be determined at a later date. The first will be on May 19 at noon. The second is May 11 at 6 p.m.

Arkansas opens the 2012 season next Friday at 3:05 p.m. against Villanova.
