Governor announces 27 appointments

LITTLE ROCK -Gov. Mike Beebe announced 27 appointments to state boards and commissions Thursday.

Those appointed:

-Tracy Akard, Pearcy, replaces Jane Powell on the state Board of Cosmetology. Her appointment expires Jan. 15, 2009.

-Doris Anderson, Sherwood, to the State Technology Council. She serves at the will of the governor.

-Russell Bailey, Lewisville, replaces Harvey Ham as Lafayette County Justice of the Peace, District 5. His appointment expires Dec. 31, 2008.

-Charlene Bauer, Bella Vista, replaces Jean Campbell on the Auctioneers Licensing Board. Her appointment expires April 15, 2012.

-Raul Blasini, Pocahontas, replaces Alvin Coleman on the Arkansas Minority Health Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 31, 2010.

-Michael Branch, Hot Springs, replaces Martha Farmere on the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy. His appointment expires June 7, 2010.

-Terry Black Coberly, Bentonville, replaces Gardenia Ambler on the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council. The appointment expires July 1, 2009.

-Larnell Davis, Pine Bluff, reappointed to the Minority Health Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 31, 2010.

-Martha DeWoody, Hope, replaces Adrian Garmon on the Governor's Commission on People with Disabilities. Her appointment expires June 1, 2008.

-Judge Wes Fowler, Huntsville, replaces Noel Rice on the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council. His appointment expires July 1, 2009.

-Adonna Johnson, Searcy, replaces Betty Robinson on the Arkansas Recreational Trails Fund Committee. She serves at the will of the governor.

-Kenny McGrew, Glenwood, reappointed to the Auctioneers Licensing Board. His appointment expires April 15, 2012.

-Leah MacPhee, Hot Springs, appointed to the Arkansas Recreational Trails Fund Committee. She serves at the will of the governor.

-David Merrifield, Springdale, appointed to the State Technology Council. He serves at the will of the governor.

-Charlene Reed, Marianna, reappointed to the Arkansas Governor's Mansion Commission. Her appointment expires April 1, 2013.

-Dorwin Shaddox, Harrison, replaces Buddy East on the Auctioneers Licensing Board. His appointment expires April 15, 2009.

-George Shelton, Fayetteville, replaces Martha McCaskill on the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission. His appointment expires October 15, 2010.

-Toby Stephens, Magnolia, appointed to the State Technology Council. He serves at the will of the governor.



To the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging:

-Zola Bulloch, Dermott, replaces Gisele Southern. Her appointment expires Jan 14, 2010.

-Betty Butler, Newport, replaces Shirley Turner. Her appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Dale Carter, Little Rock, replaces Albert Porter. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Lamar Cole, Fayetteville, reappointed. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Marilyn Hicks, Waldron, reappointed. Her appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Jean Killian, DeQueen, replaces Harriet Raley. Her appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Dr. Daron Merryman, Jonesboro, replaces Sherry Johnson. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Michael Shepard, Pine Bluff, replaces Dr. Ella Taylor. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Estella "Peaches" Watson, replaces Sister Pierre Vorster. Her appointment expires Jan. 14, 2012.
