Beebe makes 35 appointments

LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Beebe announced 35 appoinments to state boards and commissions Monday.

Those appointed:

-State Sen. Jim Argue, D-Little Rock, replaces Sen. Gilbert Baker, R-Conway, on the Southern Regional Education Board. The appointment expires June 30, 2012.

-W.H. "Dub" Arnold of Benton replaces Billy French on the state Board of Barber Examiners. The appointment expires June 30, 2014.

-Jobe Dillard of Texarkana as Miller County Constable, District 3. The appointment expires Dec. 31.

-Jimmy Fields of Benton reappointed to the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy. The appointment expires June 7, 2011.

-Stephen Foti of Little Rock reappointed to the Department of Human Services State Institutional System Board. The appointment expires June 30, 2015.

-John Jackson of Pocahontas replaces Joe Wessell on the Black River Technical College Board of Trustees. The appointment expires July 1, 2015.

-Jean Lee of Bono replaces Alma Gipson on the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy. The appointment expires June 7, 2011.

-Justin Mitchell of Little Rock replaces Robert McClanahan on the State Board of Workforce Education and Career Opportunities. The appointment expires June 30, 2011.

-Georgia Annett Pagan of Little Rock replaces Pearlie Reed on the Governor's Commission on Global Warming. The appointment expires Dec. 31, 2009.

-Richard Smith of Tillar reappointed to the State Board of Workforce Education and Career Opportunities. The appointment expires June 30, 2015.

-Stanley Townsend of Mountain View replaces Roy Bagby on the Stone County Quorum Court, District 1. The appointment expires Dec. 31.

-Janice Vaughn of North Little Rock replaces Brett Ketchum on the Arkansas School for the Blind and Arkansas School for the Deaf Board of Trustees. The appointment expires Jan. 14, 2009.

-Doyle Wallace of Bald Knob replaces Don Carter on the State Board of Barber Examiners. The appointment expires June 30, 2014.

-Paul Weaver of Violet Hill replaces George Thomas on the Ozarka Technical College Board of Trustees. The appointment expires July 1, 2015.

Beebe appointed five to the Arkansas Arts Advisory Council:

-Dr. Patricia Cox of Searcy replaces Brenda Casteel.

-Dr. Dennis Holsclaw of Arkadelphia replaces Ken Futterer.

-Donna Young of Van Buren reappointed.

-Debbie Shea of Dumas reappointed.

-Anne Douglas of Texarkana reappointed.

All Council appointments expire June 30, 2012.

The governor appointed four to the Arkansas Catfish Promotion Board:

-Jeff Baxter of Watson.

-Wayne Branton of Wilmot replaces Carl Jeffers.

-Steve Kueter of Paragould.

-Joey Lowery of Newport.

Beebe appointed four to the Arkansas Rice Research and Promotion Board:

-Joe Christian of Jonesboro.

-Jerry Hoskyn of Stuttgart.

-Bryan Moery of Wynne.

-Roger Pohlner of Fisher.

To the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board:

-Jim Carroll III of Brinkley.

-Dennis Haigwood, Newport.

-F.H. Lyons Jr. of Little Rock.

-Andrew Oliver of Marion.

To the Arkansas Wheat Promotion Board:

-Terry Dabbs of Stuttgart.

-Danny Smith of Carlisle.

-Tim Smith of Clarendon.

-William "Bart" Turner of Marion.

All promotion board appointments expire June 30, 2010, and are reappointments unless otherwise noted.
