Harry King, the dean of Arkansas sports writers covering the Arkansas Razorbacks, joined the Arkansas News Bureau in May 2002.
King, a 35-year veteran of The Associated Press, covered the Arkansas-Texas game dubbed the Big Shootout in 1969, and has continued to cover major sports at the university since then.
King, whose sports column appears five times a week, is a three-time Arkansas sports writer of the year. King is based in Little Rock, but datelines for his columns span all of the cities of the Southeastern Conference and beyond.
King is married to the former Ellen Rutherford and they have a son, Petey, a teaching golf professional, and two granddaughters, Haven and Ashton.
