Arkansas Signs New Jersey Quarterback

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has added another signing day addition to its class in New Jersey high school quarterback Damon Mitchell.

Mitchell, who played at Cedar Creek High, chose the Razorbacks over Iowa, Rutgers and Georgia Tech.

The dual-threat quarterback is rated as a three-star prospect on a five-star scale by both Rivals.com and Scout.com. Mitchell also is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports.

Mitchell originally made a verbal commitment to Georgia Tech. But he changed his mind after taking an official visit to Arkansas last weekend.

Mitchell has faxed in his national letter of intent. He is one of 19 signees announced by the Razorbacks so far this morning.
