Wilson Out With "Above The Shoulders" Injury

LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson did not come out of the locker room for the second half of tonight's game against Louisiana-Monroe.

Arkansas officials said Wilson has an injury "above the shoulders," but hasn't specified the extent.

Wilson completed 11 of 20 passes for 196 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in the first half against the Warhawks, leading the Razorbacks to a 21-7 lead. He has been replaced by backup quarterback Brandon Allen, who guided Arkansas on a scoring drive to open the second half. Allen hit receiver Mekale McKay for a 13-yard touchdown pass, extending the Arkansas lead to 28-7 early in the third quarter.

It's the second time in his career Wilson has left a game because of an injury. He suffered "concussion-like symptoms" on a 7-yard touchdown run during Arkansas' win against New Mexico here in War Memorial Stadium last September. Wilson returned to play against Alabama the next week.

Arkansas hosts Alabama in Razorback Stadium next Saturday.
