The poppy is one of the most widely recognized American Legion Auxiliary programs. Each year, usually around Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Auxiliary volunteers distribute millions of bright red crepe paper poppies. Donations are greatly appreciated when a poppy if given out. Donations received assist disabled and hospitalized veterans.

The Charleston American Legion Post #8 will have a guest speaker this month on November 10th during their normal monthly meeting. Anyone is welcome for this presentation, just not Legion members. Members will have a pot-luck starting at 6 PM and the talk will begin shortly thereafter.
