According to an Arkansas State Police report, Jacksonville resident John Michael Dollar, 53, died Oct. 31 after being struck by a vehicle. The accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m., on Arkansas Highway 65 near Shadow Ridge Road.

Police arrested a former Kareer Kids Daycare worker on Nov. 3, in connection with the Oct. 20 fire there.

Jacksonville NAACP leader Rizelle L. Aaron filed a police complaint on Oct. 22, accusing Jacksonville alderman Bob Stroud of witness intimidation and other charges. The comments came after Aaron received an e-mail from Stroud regarding Aaron’s complaints about Stroud’s public comments at an Oct. 15 City Council meeting.
