Mule Drop Fund Raiser underway for the South Franklin County Kiwanis Club.

The 2nd Annual Mule Drop is a fundraiser to support the South Franklin County Kiwanis Club. Tickets are $10.00 each and 50% of the total ticket sales goes to the winner. Tornado Victims Still Thankful One Year Later

Friday, May 25th marks the one year anniversary of the deadly tornado that ripped thru Franklin County. Signs of the carnage can still be seen in downed trees and debris on properties never cleared, and the populations in both Denning and Etna have dropped significantly since that terrible morning.

Remembering The Poppy

The poppy is one of the most widely recognized American Legion Auxiliary programs. Each year, usually around Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Auxiliary volunteers distribute millions of bright red crepe paper poppies. Donations are greatly appreciated when a poppy if given out. Donations received assist disabled and hospitalized veterans.

Eric Seaman

Eric Lee Seaman, who resided near Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at his home. He was born July 28, 1985 in Tulare, California to David Lee Seaman and Danna Louise (Barnett). He was 26 years old.

Charleston Fishing Derby May 19

Charleston’s Annual Children’s Fishing Derby sponsored by the City of Charleston, along with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will be held Saturday, May 19th from 9am to Noon. The Derby will be held at the City’s Fishing Pond located behind the Charleston High School off Guy Fenter Drive.
