FAYETTEVILLE — Guard Michael Qualls and forward Alandise Harris have been reinstated to the Arkansas basketball team after serving a one-game suspension.
Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said Monday afternoon he had met with both players and they would rejoin the team for practice in preparation for Wednesday’s game against Alabama. Arkansas announced the players had been suspended indefinitely hours before the team’s 88-74 loss at LSU last Saturday.
“We have our full team back,” Anderson said.
Qualls (11.7 points a game) and Harris (9.1) are Arkansas’ third- and fourth-leading scorers, respectively. They did not travel to LSU and Anderson revealed earlier Monday on the SEC coaches’ teleconference the two had not been practicing with the team since Arkansas’ loss to Missouri last Tuesday.
“There were some things they had to do,” Anderson said about the reinstatement. “Some conditions that they’ve got to meet. At this point here, they’ve satisifed that. Met with me. And now we’re ready to move forward.”
Arkansas, which is No. 92 in the NCAA’s latest Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), is 2-6 in conference games after losing to Missouri and LSU last week. Alabama went 0-2 last week as well, suffering double-digit losses to Auburn and Tennessee.
