LITTLE ROCK — The Republican Party of Arkansas announced its choice as the party’s new executive director Wednesday.
Megan Tollett had served as the state GOP’s political director since May 2010. She was named executive director at an RPA Executive Committee meeting Saturday.
The party’s previous executive director, Chase Dugger, left in August 2011 to take a job as a political consultant. Until Tollett’s appointment, the party had not hired anyone to replace him.
“I am incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to serve the Republican Party in this capacity,” Tollett said in a news release issued by the party. “As a young woman from south Arkansas, I feel that I will bring a unique perspective to the position of executive director. This is an exciting time for the state party after our historic election cycle in 2012, and I look forward to the prospect of electing more Republicans across the state in 2014.”
Tollett, a native of Dierks, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Henderson State University with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in political science in 2007. She also has a master’s degree in business administration from Henderson.
