1. Improve Pass Defense
Arkansas’ secondary will face one of its biggest tests of the season today. Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell is playing with confidence and has talented receivers around him. The Razorbacks must be sound in the secondary to win.
2. Keep Wilson Clean
Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson was sacked four times in last week’s loss, which equaled a season-high. The pressure forced Wilson to rush several throws and led to a pair of interceptions, including the game-breaking return for a touchdown.
3. Redzone Success
Turnovers, penalties and missed assignments continued to hurt the Hogs inside an opponents’ 20 in the South Carolina loss. Arkansas, once known for its precision inside the red zone, must take advantage of every opportunity against the Bulldogs.
4. No Careless Mistakes
The Razorbacks have had no trouble moving the ball on opponents this season, especially in the first half. But mistakes have plagued the group all year. Arkansas’ turnover-prone offense must find a way to avoid those costly errors today.
5. Sound On Special Teams
Arkansas got solid play on special teams at South Carolina and needs another for its final road trip. Freshman D’Arthur Cowan is expected to return kickoffs. Cornerback Kaelon Kelleybrew will field punts. Arkansas needs a flawless day from both.
