Arkansas RB Knile Davis (6-0, 226, Jr.)
Key Statistics: 34 carries, 132 yards, 2 TDs
Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson is expected to watch from the sideline today because of a head injury. So the Arkansas offense will need a heroic performance from Knile Davis and the ground game to beat Alabama. Davis hasn’t delivered much in two games as he works his way back after his injury absence in 2011. He is averaging just 3.9 yards on 34 attempts and his longest play came on a 19-yard draw play at the end of regulation last week. Davis said he feels healthy, though, and is ready to roll against an Alabama defense that held Arkansas to 17 rushing yards in 2011. His play will have a big say in whether Arkansas pulls off the upset.
Alabama LB C.J. Mosley (6-2, 232, Jr.)
Key Statistics: 18 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT, TD
Mosley, a returning starter, is a key cog in an Alabama defense that has limited its first two opponents to 57.5 rushing yards a game. The junior leads the team in tackles from his weakside linebacker position and has teamed with Nico Johnson to give Alabama a solid core at the position. The Crimson Tide should have no trouble with the Razorbacks if Mosley and company shuts down Davis and the Arkansas run game for the fifth straight season. Then Mosley becomes a threat in pass defense. He has returned three interceptions for touchdowns in his Alabama career, including a 16-yard run back in the season-opening win against Michigan on Sept. 1.
