FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas and Mississippi State won’t begin their three-game series at Dudy Noble Field until this afternoon.
The opening game of the series was postponed because of inclement weather in Starkville, Miss., on Friday. The teams have scheduled a doubleheader for today with first pitch set for 2 p.m. The third game remains scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Arkansas (16-8, 3-3 in SEC) carries a five-game win streak into the series against the 16th-ranked Bulldogs (18-9, 4-2), who reached the championship series of the College World Series last summer. The Razorbacks won two of three games against Alabama last weekend, while Mississippi State won its series against Vanderbilt.
Arkansas will start Jalen Beeks (3-2, 1.56 ERA) and Trey Killian (1-3, 2.36 ERA) during today’s doubleheader. Mississippi State will start Preston Brown (3-0, 1.12 ERA) and Ross Mitchell (4-1, 1.66 ERA).
