FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas guard Michael Qualls and forward Alandise Harris will not play against LSU after being suspended indefinitely by coach Mike Anderson for “conduct detrimental to the team.”
The announcement came hours before the Razorbacks play the Tigers at 4:05 p.m.
Neither player made the trip to Baton Rouge, La., with Arkansas.
The Razorbacks didn’t offer specifics regarding the suspension, but Anderson did issue a statement.
“All of our student-athletes are held to a high standard and everyone is accountable for their actions,” Anderson said in the statement. “We are trying to build the ultimate team and everyone has to be on board to make that happen. Our expectations of our student-athletes is that they reflect positively on themselves and our program at all times and that they enter each day as a Razorback with a positive attitude that helps us continue to grow this program.”
Qualls is Arkansas’ third-leading scorer, averaging 11.7 points a game. Harris ranks fourth in scoring (9.1 points).
Both players have struggled during Southeastern Conference play.
Qualls did enjoy one of his best performances of conference play in the 75-71 loss at Missouri on Tuesday night, scoring 16 points. He equaled his career-high with four 3-pointers in the loss.
